Faisal Private Bank is owned at 100% by Ithmaar Bank B.S.C..
Ithmaar was incorporated in Bahrain in 1984 under the name Faysal Investment Bank of Bahrain E.C. (‘FIBEC’). In November 2003, the company changed its named to Ithmaar Bank BSC. In 2005, Ithmaar shares were sold on the Bahrain stock exchange and were three times oversubscribed at closure on March 2006, making Ithmaar the Middle Eastern investment bank with the biggest capitalization on public markets.
Ithmaar is now the largest non-governmental multinational conglomerate within the Islamic finance industry that is not owned by a government but by private investors on a public stock exchange.
